FOR OUR VOLUNTEERS

Share your time and talents with girls.

The Girl Scout Council of St. Croix Valley is thriving with the help of 7,100 adult volunteers who share their time and talents inspiring girls. This past year, adult volunteerism increased, including an increase in the number of African-American, Hmong, and Hispanic volunteers, and a successful effort to recruit and involve more 18-24-year-old volunteers (click here to find out more). Approximately 3,000 volunteers are leaders in groups or troops, many of which have adopted co-leader or co-op models of troop management.

The Girl Scout adult volunteers are well-trained and equipped to mentor and inspire girls of all ages.

Multicultural Groups

Girl Scouts is strongly committed to the practice of pluralism, as well as actively encourages participation from all girls who are interested in becoming a Girl Scout. The council staff and volunteers work diligently on building bridges to communities where there has not been a tradition of Girl Scouting.  One area of outreach to girls includes several multicultural groups for girls aged 11 – 17.  These multicultural Girl Scout groups provide culturally-specific opportunities for girls to experience all aspects of Girl Scouting, such as building confidence, courage, and self-esteem, developing personal and leadership development, and participating in community service projects that improve the lives and environment around us.
