Help to spead the good news about Girl Scouts and Girl Scouting!
PR Reps - Help enhance public awareness and support of Girl Scouting through regular communication with local media and community contacts.
Spokesgirls - Do you love to talk about your favorite things in Girl Scouting? We are looking for Girl Scouts interested in representing the Girl Scout Council of St. Croix Valley in upcoming public relations opportunities.
- Potential PR opportunities include: profiles on the council Web site, appearances on radio and/or TV, interviews with reporters, being photographed for council publications, and so much more.
- We need girls of all ages who are outgoing and articulate.
- All Cookie spokesgirls must attend a PR training session in early January.
- Girl Scouts interested in being a Cookie spokesgirl should contact the council's communication department with her full name, age, contact information, and a brief paragraph stating her favorite activities with the Cookie Program (including Cookie Program goals) and why she should represent Girl Scouts.

- PR Reps - Learn the purpose/s of public relations in the council and your own service units; understand the primary characteristics of the Girl Scout brand voice including personality, positioning, and key messages; differentiate between council staff and volunteer roles in media relations; know the primary elements of public relations efforts including audiences, messages, and tactics; and discover a variety of effective public relations tactics.
- Girl Scout Brand Voice - Understand the Girl Scout personality, positioning, tagline, and key messages.
- Spokesgirl Training - Learn why publicity is important; how to present key Girl Scout messages; and practice interviews for television, radio, and newspapers.
