Girl Scouts. Where Girls Grow Strong.
Girl Scouting is a membership organization whose purpose is to build girls of confidence, courage, and character, who make the world a better place. The program goals of Girl Scouting are to help each girl:
- Develop to her full individual potential;
- Relate to others with increasing understanding, skill, and respect;
- Develop values to guide her actions and to provide the foundation for sound decision making; and
- Contribute to the improvement of society through the use of her abilities and leadership skills, working in cooperation with others.
The Girl Scout program is designed to meet the developmental, educational, emotional, and social needs and interests of girls. We recognize several Program Age Levels delineated as:
- Daisy Girl Scouts (grades K-1, aged 5-6)
- Brownie Girl Scouts (grades 1-3, aged 6-8)
- Junior Girl Scouts (grades 3-6, aged 8-11)
- STUDIO 2B Members (grades 6-12, aged 11-13, 13-15, and 15-17)
Though Girl Scouts come in various ages, we are all Girl Scouts! Daisies ARE Girl Scouts – Brownies ARE Girl Scouts – Juniors ARE Girl Scouts – and so are STUDIO 2BMembers. The same is true for registered adult Girl Scouts—they’re adult Girl Scouts!
