A volunteer board of directors sets strategic direction for the Girl Scout Council of St. Croix Valley. Board members represent the broad diversity of our council membership and the communities we serve, and are recommended by a volunteer nominating committee. A formal democratic process facilitates communication between our board of directors and the council's membership.
Board of Directors
Our volunteer board of directors is elected by the St. Croix Valley membership to ensure that the council: 1) manages its affairs according to state and federal law, 2) complies with Girl Scouts of the USA charter requirements, and 3) secures and allocates the resources needed to deliver the Girl Scout program throughout our service area.

Democratic Process
The Girl Scout Council of St. Croix Valley is a volunteer-driven organization committed to the democratic process. In keeping with this commitment, we maintain districts to facilitate communication between members and the council's board of directors.
Districts (geographic subdivisions of the council) are established annually by the board of directors. District members are all registered Girl Scouts aged 14 and above who live within the district boundaries.
Regular district meetings are held at least once a year to:
- Elect delegates and alternate delegates to represent the membership
- Provide an opportunity for membership development in each district
- Initiate proposals for consideration by the board of directors
- Carry-out other assignments as delegated by the board of directors
